How "100 Days with Jesus" Began
Several years ago, I came across a page in my Bible with over 250 names for Jesus. I was in awe – and have wanted to do something with it ever since. Last Christmas, Catherine found some bells from India and we began to write the names of Jesus on them for our tree.
On January 4th, as I was putting away the Christmas Tree, I was thinking how awesome it was to have these names of Jesus- but I realized I didn’t really know what they meant.
So that day, I began to study a different name of Jesus – not every day, but 2 or 3 a week.
I had no idea what God was going to do in my life. It was not what I expected. Not what I planned for.
I am astounded at what I have learned in this study and my view of Jesus has completely changed. I understand more clearly that Jesus had one purpose when He came to earth – and each name points to the Gospel.
On day #70, I fell face down on my floor to worship Him.
I was sharing this with some other friends, and they asked me to share the list with them – so I have created an Instagram account (@100 Days with Jesus) that you may follow and I will post it on my blog (thecottonhouse.com ). The 100 days journey begins September 1st and will end on December 25th, Jesus’ Birthday. I am inviting you to join me on September 1st (or any time after that). You can read on my blog how I studied each name and kept it very, very simple.
As I write this, I am just completing the #95th name for Jesus. I can truly say that each day, I have been amazed and astounded by the truth of who He is.
My prayer is that you will worship Him as never before and that you will get a glimpse of His glory and His majesty for 100 days before His Birthday.
Begin on September 1st with Name #1!
