AUTHOR AND PERFECTER OF FAITH

"Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the AUTHOR AND PERFECTER OF FAITH, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.   For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you may not grow weary and lose heart."  Hebrews 12:1-3 (NASB)

Jesus, You are the AUTHOR AND PERFECTER OF FAITH.  You are the AUTHOR -  the originator of those who believe.   And You are the PERFECTER - the One who will complete, finalize, improve and refine my faith.   Jesus, You suffered and despised the shame as You endured the cross - but You did it for the joy that was set before You.    The joy of paying my debt so that I could be with You for eternity where You sit at the right hand of the throne of God.  Jesus, I want to run the race with endurance, casting aside every sin that holds me back, and I want to fix my eyes on JESUS -  who is the AUTHOR AND PERFECTER OF FAITH.  Jesus, remind me to consider the hostility You endured by sinners for my sake, so that I will not grow weary and lose heart.  YOU are the One I look to.  You are the One who began my faith and will complete it.  I want to FIX MY EYES ON JESUS!
