#34 EVERLASTING FATHER

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, EVERLASTING FATHER, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6

DEFINITION of EVERLASTING

:lasting or enduring through all time; eternal

Definition of FATHER

: a male parent: a man who is thought of as being like a father

Jesus, You are our EVERLASTING FATHER! You endure for all time! The ESV Study Bible says "A "father" here is a benevolent protector (Isaiah 22:21; Job 29:16), which is the task of the ideal king and is also the way God himself cares for His people. That is, this is not using the Trinitarian title "Father' for the Messiah; rather, it is portraying Him as a King". Jesus, You are a Father to me - my protector and the One who cares for me!! You are the One that Isaiah was pointing to as the King of Kings who would reign forever! I worship You Jesus!

Worship and praise Jesus as the EVERLASTING FATHER!
