#63  BELOVED

"Remember the law of my servant Moses, the statues and rules that I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel.  Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes."  Malachi 4:4-5

"And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain by themselves.  And He was transfigured before them, and His clothes became radiant, intensely white, as no one on earth could bleach them.  And there appeared to them Elijah with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus."  "And a cloud overshadowed them, and a voice came out of the cloud, "This is my BELOVED Son, listen to Him."  Mark 9:2-4, 7 (ESV)

Definition of BELOVED

: very much loved : dearly loved

Jesus, You are BELOVED!  The last verses of the Old Testament close with the promise of the two great prophets, Moses and Elijah.  These two men, who represent the Law and the Prophets, also appeared at Your transfiguration!  Your radiant appearance revealed that You were the BELOVED Son of God!  Moses and Elijah were anticipating You!  In Luke 24:44, You said "These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled."  Jesus, You are the One that Moses and Elijah, through the Law, the Prophets and Psalms were pointing to!  You alone are worthy of my worship, Jesus!!

Worship and praise Jesus today - the One who is the BELOVED SON OF GOD!
