#86 CONSOLATION

#86 CONSOLATION

"Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the CONSOLATION of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.  And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen theLord's Christ.  And he came in the Spirit into the temple, and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for Him according to the Law, he took Him up in his arms and blessed God and said, "Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word; for my eyes have seen your salvation that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel."  Luke 225-32 (ESV)

DEFINITION OF CONSOLATION

:  the act or an instance of consoling :  the state of being consoled :  comfort :  something that lessens disappointment, misery, or grief

Jesus, You are CONSOLATION!  You are the COMFORT and CONSOLATION that we are all looking for.   Simeon knew who You were when Your parents brought You into the temple.  He had been waiting his whole life to see You!  He knew he could die in peace because God had sent the One who was the CONSOLATION!  You are the answer to this broken world!  You are the hope for everything I encounter on this earth - because You are GOD WITH US!  Jesus, You are the One we had been waiting for!  You are the SAVIOR OF THE WORLD!  You alone are worthy to be worshipped!

Worship and praise Jesus - our CONSOLATION!

(Who are you looking to for CONSOLATION?  Run to JESUS - He is CONSOLATION!!)
