Jesus, You are the SON OF DAVID! You are the male descendant of DAVID, the King of Israel. You have legally descended from the line of David and fulfilled 2 Samuel 7:8-16. Why does this matter? You are the fulfillment of the prophesy of a Messiah with a royal lineage who would reestablish the throne in Jerusalem and the kingdom of Israel. You, Jesus, are the rightful legal heir to the covenant promises from God. Jesus, You will reign forever and Your kingdom will have no end!!!! These are words of such hope and promise!! Matthew was speaking to a Jewish audience who kept genealogies to establish a person's heritage, inheritance, legitimacy and rights. He was writing to prove to Jews and Gentiles that You, Jesus, are truly the Savior and the King of Kings! You have fulfilled the prophesies from years before. Jesus, I believe that You are from the line of David and that You fulfill the prophecies of 2 Samuel 7:8-16. Thank You for coming to be born to us at the right time! As we approach the celebration of Your birth - we bow before You, we worship You, Jesus, as the long-awaited King - the SON OF DAVID!!
