#11 COMPASSIONATE

40 DAYS WITH JESUS

#11 COMPASSIONATE   "And a leper came to Him, beseeching Him and FALLING ON HIS KNEES before Him, and saying to Him, "If You are willing, You can make me clean."  And moved with COMPASSION, He stretched out His hand, and TOUCHED him, and said to him, "I am willing; be cleansed."  And immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed."  Mark 1:40-42

 DEFINITION OF COMPASSIONATE

: feeling or showing concern for someone who is sick, hurt, poor, etc. : having or showing compassion

Oh Jesus, You were COMPASSIONATE!  You were unlike anyone else!  The lepers had to be confined and isolated - no one could touch them or come near them because they were extremely contagious and considered incurable.  But the leper came and FELL DOWN BEFORE YOU and asked to be healed - and what did You do?  You TOUCHED him!  You did what no one else would do!  Oh Jesus, that is what You do in my life - You reach out and TOUCH those places in me that have sin and You tell me that You love me no matter what.  You have COMPASSION for me - and pursue me until I realize Your love for me.  You are not afraid to love the unlovable.  This is WHY You died for the world - You reached out and TOUCHED us with Your love.  "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8.   You don't ask us to become perfect and healthy and clean - You DIED for us as we are.  This is Your plan - this is WHY You came.  You came to be our SAVIOR -  because of Your COMPASSION for a world who needed You!

(How has Jesus pursued you while you were still a sinner?  Worship Him for being COMPASSIONATE!)#40dayswithjesus
