#37 EMPOWERED

"And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord."  Isaiah 11:2

"Now it came about when all the people were baptized, that Jesus also was baptized, and while He was praying, heaven was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form like a dove, and a voice came out of heaven, "Thou art My beloved Son, in Thee I am well-pleased."  Luke 3:21-22

DEFINITION of  EMPOWERED

: to give power to someone

Jesus, You were EMPOWERED by the Holy Spirit!  The ESV Study Bible explains Isaiah 11:2 this way "the Messiah is more richly endowed with a threefold fulness of the Spirit:  wisdom and understanding for leadership (Deut. 1:13; 1 Kings 3:9), counsel and might to carry out His wise plans; knowledge and the fear of the Lord for holiness (Ps. 14:4)"  When You came to John the Baptist, the Holy Spirit descended on You like a dove - which was a sign to John that You were the Lamb of God who would take away the sin of the world! (John 1:29-34)  Jesus, You are the One that Isaiah was pointing to as the Messiah who was EMPOWERED by the Spirit of God!   You are the greatest leader who ever lived!  Jesus, I worship You as the One who was EMPOWERED by the Holy Spirit!

Worship and praise Jesus - He is EMPOWERED!
