#56 HUMBLE

"Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!  Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem!  Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and endowed with salvation.  HUMBLE, and mounted on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a donkey."  Zechariah 9:9

"And when they had approached Jerusalem and had come to Bethphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, "Go into the village opposite you, and immediately will find a donkey tied there and a colt with her; untie them, and bring them to Me.  And if anyone says something to you, you shall say, "The Lord has need of them," and immediately he will send them."  Now this took place that what was spoken through the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, "Say to the daughter of Zion, Behold Your king is coming to you, HUMBLE and mounted on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden."  And the disciples went and did just as Jesus had directed them, and brought the donkey and the colt, and laid on them their garments, on which He sat."  Matthew 21:1-7

DEFINITION OF HUMBLE

: not proud : not thinking of yourself as better than other people

Jesus, You are HUMBLE.  Even though You are GOD - You were not proud or haughty.  You did not think of yourself as better than others.  You GAVE Your life for me.  Zechariah's ministry was in 520 B.C.  My Study Bible says "No prophet of the entire Old Testament is more concerned with the Messianic hope or gives more specific predictions about the coming of the Messiah than Zechariah." The prediction was fulfilled when Jesus came riding into Jerusalem on a donkey - and the ones watching knew that the Messianic promises had been pointing to Him!  Oh Jesus, we worship You - the One that Zechariah was pointing to as the Savior of the World!

Worship and praise Jesus - He is HUMBLE!

(Do you recognize Jesus as the Savior of the World?)
