#11 NEAR

"The Lord is NEAR to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Psalms 34:18

"Therefore, when Mary came where Jesus was, she saw Him, and fell at His feet, saying to Him, "Lord, If You had been here, my brother would not have died."  When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and Jews who came with her, also weeping, He was deeply moved in spirit and was troubled, and said, "Where have you laid him?"  They said to Him, "Lord, come and see."  Jesus wept.  And so the Jews were saying, "Behold how He loved him!"  John 11:32-36

Jesus, You are NEAR to the brokenhearted!!!  You are not a far off God who doesn't care.  You are NEAR to those who are brokenhearted.  You know what it means to have a broken heart.  People rejected You, laughed at You, and spit on You when You walked on this earth.  Those who were Your best friends - deserted you and denied they even knew You.   You experienced the death of close friends and You witnessed the suffering of those You loved.  You understand how it feels to be brokenhearted.   But Jesus, You knew something I don't know - You knew what heaven is like and You comforted Your disciples with these words "Let not your heart be troubled, believe in God, believe also in Me.  In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you, for I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." (John 14:1-3)  You understand the brokenhearted - but You know there is so MUCH MORE than this world!!  Thank You Jesus, for being NEAR and then comforting me with Your HOPE!!  I worship You, Jesus!!
