#20 FORSAKEN

#20 FORSAKEN

"My God, My God, why have You FORSAKEN Me?"  Psalm 22:1

"Now from the sixth hour darkness fell upon all the land until the ninth hour.  And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?"  that is, "My God, My God, why have You FORSAKEN Me?"  Matthew 27:45-46, Mark 15:34

"He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."  2 Corinthians 5:21

DEFINITION of FORSAKEN

to give up or leave someone or something entirely  :  to renounce or turn away from entirely

Jesus, You were FORSAKEN by God on the cross.  When You spoke these words, it was the moment when You paid the debt for my sins.  You were the payment - the atonement - for my sin. God "turned away from You entirely" in order for You to be sin on my behalf.  These words were spoken in Psalm 22 - and then by You, Jesus, on the cross.   This was the moment of the greatest act of love that was ever given.  You, who had never been separated from Your Father, were FORSAKEN  by Him to pay my debt on the cross.  I worship, honor and praise You, Jesus!!!!

(How can you honor Him today with your worship?  Thank Him for being FORSAKEN for you!)#100dayswithjesus
