#19 HUMILIATED

"They divide My garments among them, and for My clothing they cast lots."  Psalm 22:18

"The soldiers therefore, when they had crucified Jesus, took His outer garments and made four parts; a part to every soldier and also the tunic; now the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece.  They said therefore to one another, "Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, to decide whose it shall be"; that the Scripture might be fulfilled "They divided My outer garments among them, and for My clothing they cast lots."  John 19:23-24

DEFINITION of HUMILIATED

: to make someone feel very ashamed or foolish

Oh Jesus, You were HUMILIATED on the cross.  In Psalm 22:18, it was prophesied that they would cast lots for Your clothing - and in John 19:23-24, it says that this Scripture was fulfilled!  As You were hanging on the cross, the soldiers who executed You, gambled for Your clothing.  Such HUMILIATION is so hard to read about and so hard to understand.  But You endured it for me.  You were HUMILIATED by hanging on a cross - the clothes they ripped off of You were gambled for by the ones who murdered You on a cross.  Such HUMILIATION is beyond my comprehension - but this was prophesied in Psalm 22 as it pointed to You as the Messiah!  You are the One that the Scripture pointed to who would be the Savior of the world!   Jesus, You are worthy of all my worship!!
