#41 - INDESCRIBABLE GIFT

"Thanks be to God for His INDESCRIBABLE GIFT!!" 2 Corinthians 9:15

Full Definition of INDESCRIBABLE

: impossible to describe : very great or extreme : inexpressible

This is my favorite name for Jesus because it explains how I feel as I study His names!! He is INDESCRIBABLE!! Everyday as I study, I find more names to describe Him. It takes hundreds of names to even begin to describe Him - and then they don't even come close to expressing who He really is. We do not have words in any language to describe Him - no matter how hard we try!! Over and over, the disciples fell to their faces in either fear or awe - because they could not describe or handle who He was. John felt this at the end of His Gospel. He said "And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books which were written." (John 21:25). It was as if he had told all that he could but then felt that he had not even come close to describing who Jesus really was. There was so much to tell that the world could not even contain the books that were written about Him!! INDESCRIBABLE!! We can't even come close to understanding who He really was or all the things that He did. In Romans 11:33 it says "Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God. How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!" It is unfathomable for me to completely understand His ways and His judgments - HE IS INDESCRIBABLE!

But He is not only INDESCRIBABLE - He is my GIFT!!

: something voluntarily transferred by one person to another without compensation :present

Jesus, You are my GIFT - voluntarily transferred to another without compensation! He who was INDESCRIBABLE was given to me! He was a GIFT - and I cannot pay Him back or work for this gift. "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the GIFT of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast." (Eph. 2:8-9) He who is INDESCRIBABLE was voluntarily given to me as a GIFT!! That alone changes my life forever. Thank You Jesus for the INDESCRIBABLE GIFT of YOURSELF! I WORSHIP YOU, JESUS, MY INDESCRIBABLE GIFT!!!
