#33 - HEALER

"And when Jesus entered Peter's house, He saw his mother-in-law lying sick with a fever.  He touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she rose and began to serve Him.  That evening they brought to Him many who were oppressed by demons, and He cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick.  This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: "He took our illnesses and bore our diseases."  Matt. 8:14-17

"That evening at sundown they brought to Him all who were sick or oppressed by demons.  And the whole city was gathered at the door.  And He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons.  And He would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew Him."  Mark 1:32-34

Full Definition of HEALER

 : one who makes sound or whole  :  to restore to health:  to cause (an undesirable condition) to be overcome

Jesus, You are my HEALER.  You restored to health and you overcame death!  You took upon Yourself the infirmities of mankind and died on my behalf!!  "But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are HEALED." Is. 53:5.  Jesus, when I think of the whole city coming to Your door after dark, all who were sick and demon possessed, wanting You to heal them - it must have been overwhelming and exhausting.   Yet You patiently and compassionately  healed them and took authority over the demons - even commanding them not to speak of You!!  Jesus, You have compassion for me - You gave Your life to die for my sins and You gave Your life to heal when You walked on this earth, patiently and compassionately caring for the sick and demon possessed.  Only You have overcome death!!  You are my ultimate HEALER!!
