#67  NAZARENE  "But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying "Arise and take the Child and His mother, and go into the land of Israel; for those who sought the Child's life are dead."  And he arose and took the Child and His mother, and came into the land of Israel.  But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there.  And being warned by God in a dream, he departed for the regions of Galilee, and came and resided in a city called NAZARETH, that what was spoken through the prophets might be fulfilled, "He shall be called a NAZARENE."  Matthew 2:19-23

Jesus, You were a NAZARENE.  You were fully man and fully God - born in Bethlehem and raised in NAZARETH.  NAZARETH was a small village that was apparently  despised by the Jews because it housed a Roman fort.  Anyone from NAZARETH was despised - this is why Nathanael said in John 1:46  "Can any good thing come out of NAZARETH?"  God, You planned for Jesus to be born to poor parents, in a feeding trough and to be raised in a town that was despised.  Jesus Himself was despised (Isaiah 53:3).  You do not do things according to this world - Your plan is so different.   You choose the weak things of the world to confound the wise - "but God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being may boast in the presence of God...Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord."  1 Cor. 1:26-31.  We think that riches and wealth, wisdom and status are important  - but You take the poor, the weak, the despised and You use them for Your purposes.  And You receive all the glory.  You can use anyone.  Oh Jesus, don't let me look at things from the world's perspective - but from Your perspective.  You have a plan that is different from what I expect - Your ways are higher and greater - and You deserve all the glory!  I worship You, Jesus, the NAZARENE!!

(Do you believe God can use you for His glory?  Worship Jesus today - the NAZARENE!!)#100dayswithjesus
