#68  PASSOVER LAMB

"For Christ, our PASSOVER LAMB has been sacrificed."  1 Corinthians 5:7

"For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will PASS OVER the door and will not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you."  Exodus 12:23.

Full Definition of PASSOVER

:  a Jewish holiday beginning on the 14th of Nisan and commemorating the Hebrews' liberation from slavery in Egypt;  the exemption of the Israelites from the slaughter of the firstborn in Egypt  (Exodus 12)

Jesus, You are our PASSOVER LAMB!   God had a plan to set His people free from the slavery of the Egyptians.  The Jews were instructed to put the blood of an UNBLEMISHED LAMB on the lintel and doorpost of their household.    When God PASSED OVER,  He would see the blood and He would spare every household that had blood on the lintel and doorpost.  However, every Egyptian's home that did not have the blood of the PASSOVER LAMB on their doorpost would lose their first born.  (Exodus 11 - 13)     Jesus was the PASSOVER LAMB that died for me.  If I believe in what He did for me - His blood covers me and I will be set free and live forever with Him.  It has NOTHING to do with what I have done - or have earned - it is all about the PASSOVER LAMB who was slain for my sins.   They did not earn it - they only obeyed what God said they needed to do to be saved.  After God told them what was going to happen "all the people bowed their heads and worshipped." Ex. 12:27.  They realized that God was saving them from death through the blood on their doorpost.   Jesus, I don't even know what to say.   I feel very overcome today as I write these words.  The truth that You would come to earth to be the sacrificial PASSOVER LAMB for me is more than I can bear.   Jesus, I bow before You and worship You with my life  - You are my PASSOVER LAMB!!

(Do you believe in the PASSOVER LAMB who was slain for you?  Worship and thank Jesus - our PASSOVER LAMB!)#100dayswithjesus
