DAY #16 - CONSOLATION
JESUS
DAY # 16 - CONSOLATION
"And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the CONSOLATION of Israel; and the Holy Spirit was upon him. And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ. And he came in the Spirit into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to carry out for Him the custom of the Law, then he took Him into his arms, and blessed God, and said, "Now Lord, Thou dost let Thy bondservant depart in peace, according to Thy word; for my eyes have seen Thy salvation, which Thou hast prepared in the presence of all peoples, a light of revelation to the Gentiles and the glory of Thy people Israel. And His father and mother were amazed at the things which were being said about Him." Luke 3:25-33
Full Definition of CONSOLATION
1 : the act or an instance of consoling : the state of being consoled : comfort
Jesus, You are the CONSOLATION of this broken world. You are comfort, reassurance, and solace. Simeon waited his whole life to see the One who would rescue and comfort his people. When he realized who You were - he had complete peace. He knew that You were the only answer to this broken world - and that You had come. You are the hope for everything I encounter here on this earth and You have promised me eternal life with You. Jesus, You came to earth as the answer to every problem I face. Knowing that You lived and died, I can have complete peace in Your salvation - which is the forgiveness of my sins. This was the reason You came - to provide a way for me and for all of the world to know You. What am I looking to besides You as the CONSOLATION and comfort of my life? May I look and wait only for You as my CONSOLATION - now and for all eternity! I worship You and thank You, Jesus, for being my CONSOLATION!!
(What are you looking to for CONSOLATION and comfort? Thank Him, praise Him and worship Him for being your CONSOLATION!!)
