DAY #7 - BELOVED SON

"In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.  And when He came up out of the water, immediately He saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit descending on Him like a dove.  And a voice came from heaven, You are My BELOVED SON; with You I am well pleased."  Mark 1:9-11

 

Full Definition of BELOVED

dearly loved; dear to the heart; very much loved

Jesus is the BELOVED SON of God the Father - He is very much loved, dearly loved, dear to the heart of God the Father.  As Jesus is baptized, God the Father's voice confirms the eternal, love-filled Sonship of Jesus, as the Holy Spirit descends on Him like a dove.  God the Father declares that Jesus is His BELOVED SON - and that He is well pleased with Him.  John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."  It is because of God the Father's love for me that He gave His only son - His BELOVED SON -  that I might have eternal life through Him.  I thank You and praise You, God,  that You would give your only Son - your BELOVED SON -  that I might believe and have eternal life through Him.  This was Your plan - this was Jesus' purpose when He came to earth - to live and die for me.  I worship and adore You today Jesus, BELOVED SON, for giving Your life for me!  (What does this mean in your life today, that God would give His BELOVED SON to live and die for you?  Thank Him, Praise Him and Worship Him today!)
