#47 SUFFERED

#47 SUFFERED

"Surely our griefs He Himself bore and our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken.  Smitten of God, and afflicted, but He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities;  the chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed.  All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; but the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him."  Isaiah 53:4-5

"So he then delivered Him to them to be crucified.  They took Jesus therefore, and He went out, bearing His own cross, to the place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha.  There they crucified Him, and with Him two other men, one on either side, and Jesus in between."  John 19:16-18

DEFINITION OF SUFFERED

: to experience pain, illness, or injury : to become worse because of being badly affected by something :  to submit to or be forced to endure   :  to feel keenly :  labor under :  undergo, experience

Jesus, You SUFFERED.  You carried our griefs and sorrows, You were smitten and afflicted, pierced, crushed, chastened and scourged.  All of the iniquity of man was laid on You at the cross.  You endured SUFFERING for me.  When I think of all the beautiful names that describe who You are - and then I think of what You have done for me - it is too much to bear.  Oh Jesus, may I never take it lightly or just read these words and feel no emotion for what You did for me!  I worship You Jesus - for paying the price for my sin on the cross!!!

I worship You Jesus - the One who SUFFERED for me!!

(Does it move you to think of what Jesus did for you?)
