#48 GUILT OFFERING

#48  GUILT OFFERING

"He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, and like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, so He did not open His mouth.  But the Lord was pleased to crush Him, putting Him to grief; if He would render Himself as a guilt offering.  He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, and the good pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand."  Isaiah 53:7, 10 (NASB)

"And the high priest stood up and said to Him,  "Do You make no answer?  What is it that these men are testifying against You?"  But Jesus kept silent."  Matthew 26:62, 63a (NASB)

 DEFINITION OF GUILT

: responsibility for a crime or for doing something bad or wrong

 DEFINITION OF OFFERING

: something that is given to God :  the act of one who offers  :  something offered

Jesus, You gave Yourself as a GUILT OFFERING.  You were silent at Your trial because this was Your purpose.  This was why You came to earth - to pay for my sin.  You, who had no sin, gave Yourself to pay for my guilt and sin.  "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." 2 Corinthians 5:21.  You were sin on my behalf!  This is the Great Exchange - Your life for mine.  Oh Jesus, thank You for rendering (to transmit to another; deliver; give up)  Yourself as a GUILT OFFERING!  This is beyond my comprehension - that You would make this choice - but it is because of Your love for me.  I worship You, my Jesus, for giving Yourself as a GUILT OFFERING!

Worship and praise Jesus today - your GUILT OFFERING!

(Do you live in guilt?  Jesus GAVE His life to pay for yours - that you might be free from guilt and shame!)
