#37 - HUMBLE
" Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though He was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking on the form a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, He HUMBLED Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross." Philippians 2:5-8
Full Definition of HUMBLE
: not proud or haughty : not arrogant or assertive
: ranking low in a hierarchy or scale : insignificant, unpretentious
: not thinking of yourself as better than other people
Jesus, You who are God - HUMBLED Yourself - You made Yourself nothing, insignificant, low in hierarchy, not arrogant or assertive. You HUMBLED Yourself. You chose to give up Your place of equality in heaven with God to come to this broken world in the form of an infant and a servant. But not only did You leave Your place of equality with God in heaven, You HUMBLED Yourself and chose to be obedient to the point of death - death on a cross. You chose the ultimate form of execution. Because of Your love for me, You came to earth and chose to die in the most degrading and humiliating form of death, crucifixion. Crucifixion is said to have caused the most prolonged suffering and physically agonizing pain of any type of execution - it was the absolute destruction of the person. The excruciating pain was magnified by the degradation and humiliation that was experienced. Jesus, this wrecks me. I don't even know what to say. Your love for me and all of mankind is far more than I can comprehend. I fall on my face before You, Jesus, who HUMBLED Yourself to the point of death by crucifixion for me. This was Your plan - to give up Your life for mine - this is the ultimate sacrifice. I WORSHIP YOU, JESUS.
(What can you do today to worship Jesus - who HUMBLED Himself for you? Praise Him, thank Him and WORSHIP HIM for being HUMBLE.) #100dayswithjesus
