#26 - GENTLE

"Come to me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am GENTLE and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy and My load is light."  Matthew 11:29

 Full Definition of GENTLE

having or showing a kind nature; not harsh or violent;  not hard or forceful; not severe, rough

Jesus, You are GENTLE.  You were strong but never harsh.  You spoke with authority but were never severe or rough.  You were kind - but always truthful.   Even when You were on trial before the government officials, Your words were gentle - not hard or forceful.  Your words "Come to me"  invite me to trust in You personally, not merely to believe historical facts about You.  It is a personal invitation.   You provide rest for me from trying to earn my way to You.    You provide peace when I am weary and heavy laden with burdens that You can carry.   I will find rest for my soul.  I will find peace because of what You have already done.  You provide peace through Your payment for my sins.  You have already done it. You have already paid my debt - and all I have to do is rest in what You have already done.  It is paid for - my past sins, my present sins and the sins I will commit in the future.  Your yoke is easy and Your load is light (Your commandments are not burdensome - 1 John 5:3).  Your invitation is for rest and peace because You are able to carry the load and You have already paid the price for me.  Jesus, I want to know You - You who are GENTLE and kind.  I worship You and thank You for being GENTLE!!
